VisionTEK Announces the Release of the UNITY Mobile Data Handheld Wants and Warrants Solution  

The UNITY Mobile Data Handheld is a mobile data software application developed to meet the rigorous requirements of officers who need secure, wireless access to local, regional, state, and federal databases while patrolling on foot, horseback, bicycle, Segway, or other modes of transportation where officers benefit from powerful, lightweight equipment.

The UNITY Mobile Data Handheld allows agencies to extend officer presence in the field because it provides the robust Wants and Warrants functionally provided by in-car mobile data applications while giving them the freedom and power to access that functionality anywhere a handheld device can be used. Officers walking the street can perform vehicle license and driver license queries with a compact and portable handheld device. They can query law enforcement databases when working sporting events, concerts, while on location at calls for service. Anywhere they can go, the handheld device can go.   

The UNITY Mobile Data Handheld builds on VisionTEK’s tradition of excellence and innovation by being DOJ compliant, Java Micro Edition (JME) compliant, and customizable. It supports 2D barcode scanners and card swipers. In short, it is ready for service in the field. 

UNITY Data Sharing – Local Data, Global Data

When using the UNITY Mobile Data Handheld, agencies are able to leverage the UNITY Data infrastructure to query another agency’s Records Management System (RMS) records. With permission from each participating agency, VisionTEK engineering needs to perform only a few configurations to create and publish queries that allow each agency to run queries against another agency’s RMS database records.
